We are a group of local creatives who want to bring something new for the people of Mullingar to gather and celebrate.

In ancient times, the many tribes of Ireland would travel to participate in music, art, heritage, food, trading, sports and law-making.

BAILIÚ festival pays homage to our ancestors who gathered every year on the Hill of Uisneach to celebrate Bealtaine.

Festivals can be great ways to help people learn new ways of doing things, such as how to live a bit more sustainably and in tune with our environment, which is something very close to the heart of BAILIÚ.

We also realise and appreciate the importance of the act of gathering in and of itself. Being in celebration with a group of people, whether they be friends or strangers, is a powerful experience. It is good for the soul!

Gathering in this way, to have fun, to sing, dance, to learn something, allows us to realise that we are not alone, and this is especially important at a time when we face multiple crises in the world. Life can feel overwhelming at times, and it helps to realise that we are all in this together, and to understand that we will only progress if we work together.

Join us for our inaugural Bailiú festival this Bealtaine and let’s create something magical!
